Custom showers in Arcadia and Biltmore.

Arcadia and the Biltmore corridor hold some of the oldest good housing stock in the metro. That is the whole opportunity and the whole difficulty: the houses are worth restoring, and almost everything behind the wall is original.

What we build

Seamless solid-surface panel walls with no joints in them, frameless low-iron glass, warm metal hardware, and a curbless entry when the floor will take one. Low-iron matters more than it sounds: ordinary tempered glass carries a green cast from its iron content, and you see it the moment it sits against a pale stone wall.

The same shower can be built to be safe without looking like it was. That is most of what this company is for.

What we find in Arcadia & Biltmore bathrooms

Mid-century ranch construction means galvanized supply that has been quietly closing up for sixty years, cast iron or undersized drains, no accessible cleanout, and original shower pans that have usually been leaking longer than anyone realised. A shower remodel in this stock is a plumbing job with a finish on it — which is the correct order, and it is why the person selling you the shower should be the licensed plumber doing the work.

The local constraint worth knowing about

Older slabs, original framing, and additions done across several decades. Nothing here is assumed; it is opened and looked at.

And if someone in the house needs it to be safe

A curbless entry, a properly anchored grab bar and a bench can all be built into a shower that still looks like the rest of the property. We do that constantly — most often a primary suite and a guest suite in the same house, built to two different briefs.

No grout lines. Anywhere.

Every seam in a shower wall is somewhere water gets in and mildew comes back. A seamless solid-surface panel has none of them — no grout lines to scrub, seal, or redo in four years. You wipe the wall down and you are finished.

It also installs faster, and the result does not depend on whether one setter had a good week. This is the only way QC Showers builds a shower. It is a deliberate choice, not a limitation.

Who is actually doing the work

John Montiel, QC Plumbing — Arizona ROC #344196, licensed, bonded and insured. A shower is a plumbing job with a finish on it, so the person who sells it should be the licensed plumber who installs it. There is no crew you have never met and no franchise call centre between you and the work.

Arcadia & Biltmore · questions we get asked

Why seamless panels?

Maintenance, and where things fail. Every seam in a wall is somewhere water can get behind and mildew can come back, which is why so many showers look tired at four years old and need work at eight. A seamless solid-surface wall has no grout lines at all — you wipe it down and you are finished. It installs faster too, and the result does not depend on whether one installer had a good week. It is the only way QC Showers builds, deliberately.

Can any bathroom go curbless?

Most can, but how depends on the floor. On a slab it is either a recess cut into the concrete or a built-up floor with the drain relocated, and that decision is made on site with a tape measure — not over the phone. If the slab is post-tension, which almost everything built in Phoenix after about 1980 is, it gets scanned before anything is cut. Cutting a tendon is a structural repair, not a mistake you absorb.

Is the glass frameless?

Yes, and it is low-iron. Standard tempered glass has a green tint from its iron content, which you notice the moment you put it against a white or a pale stone wall. Low-iron is clear, and it is the difference between a shower that looks custom and one that looks ordered.
